A social impact feature film that follows a mother fighting to keep her family together in the face of a catastrophic migration crisis wreaking havoc on the indigenous population up in the highlands of Guatemala.

FUEGO is an urgent and heart wrenching dramatic thriller about the inhabitants of a Mayan village who risk their lives in order to shape their own destiny.

Please join us as we welcome the film's writer and director, Arturo Muyshondt, who was raised in Guatemala, and is a close friend of Darruma Collective, for a conversation after the screening.

This cinematic experience is critical and urgent as it highlights the origin of the one of most unknown yet most pressing issues of our times: how more than 250,000 Indigenous children refugees from the northern triangle of Central America have crossed into the US alone looking for a better life, only to be handed over to modern day slavery and to street gangs.
